Made by Buchan Pottery in Portobello near Edinburgh, Scotland. Beautifully hand painted in the Rouen pattern 1956-1968, no two designs are exactly the same.
ROUEN (Designed by Irene Eyers) - hand painted in polychrome in the Rouen pattern with blue stylised flowers and vertical zigzag bands. The base is printed with a thistle and BUCHAN/PORTOBELLO/SCOTLAND / 187-20 /M1-229/. M1 is the code for Matt White.
Very lovely it is too. It has a contemporary I feel - even though it must be at the very least 54 years old. Rare to boot. Great vintage condition, no chips or cracks.
