Made by Buchan Pottery in Portobello near Edinburgh, Scotland. Beautifully hand painted in the BRITTANY pattern 1956-1968, no two designs are exactly the same.
The base is printed with a thistle and BUCHAN/FINEST STONEWARE/SCOTLAND / 187-20 /M6-154/. M6 is the makers mark but I cannot trace which one.
Very lovely it is too. It has a contemporary I feel - even though it must be at the very least 54 years old. You can use it in the oven for single portions which is also really useful. Great vintage condition, no chips or cracks.
