Regular magpies will know we can't pass by a good fishy dishy. This is right up there.
Hand~painted serving dish by the wonderful studio that was Edward Radford's. I wish they had done more of this sort of thing as it's wonderful. Radford trained at Wedgwood and it shows.
Pattern number 1194. White ceramic tureen with fun lemon handles to the side and the top. Stunning, beautifully detailed hand~painted fish to the top. Can't be later than the 1950s as the studio wound up then, but we cannot be precise about which decade this was produced in despite diligent research.
Great condition no chips or cracks - there is crackling to the glaze, entirely commensurate with it's age and some marking to the inside from use. Useful slim design for both display and table use. Lovely, we debated keeping it but we have a rule ...........one in, one out and couldn't pick an out.
