Not for the first time opinion is divided on this piece. I seized upon it and love it. Magpie 2 pulled his 'really?' face. Pah I say, pah.
Slab built (hand~made) studio trinket box which has then been impressed and hand~painted. Such a quirky little piece, in such interesting colours. It's old, if I was guessing I would say it's 1950s. Also has a Venetian feel about it but that is pure speculation on my part because of the colour palette and a slightly 'carnivale' feel.
Great vintage condition no chips or cracks - would make a great hiding place for treasure or more routinely your keys in the hallway.
