Beautiful Victorian sardine dish or box. Dating from the late 1880s in white porcelain. Very characterful hand~painted sardine sitting atop.
Some of his marking has faded a little over the years and the gilt edging line at the base of the dish is worn a little too. Does not detract in my view.
Marked with 189 which does not help us with identification sadly. Many of them were made in Austria. No chips or cracks.
A very fine little fishy dishy he is too.
Dimensions 145mm wide by 55mm deep
